Knoxville Police, with assistance of K9 officers, apprehended a suspect shortly after a burglary at a South Knoxville liquor store.
At approximatetly 10 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 11, Knoxville Police Department answered a report of a burglary in progress at 6203 Chapman Highway, the EZ In and Out Liquor Store. Upon arrival, Officer Parnell determined that the suspect, a white male, had fled from the business on foot and a witnesses reported seeing him near the Lakeview Motel located at 6133 Chapman Highway.
Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and were assisted by two K9 teams. Officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Gregory Comer, inside a hotel room there. Forensic technicians responded to the scene to recover evidence from the burglary that was located with the suspect in the hotel room.
Gregory Comer, 56, of 325 Tedlo Drive, Knoxville was charged with burglary, theft and felony vandalism. He was being held in lieu of $9,000 bond.
