Police have identified the victim from the stabbing incident at Inn Town Suites that occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19.

Sgt Chris McCarter of Knoxville Police Department identified the victim as Wesley B Stanley, 40-years-old of Knoxville. Stanley’s injuries appear to be non life threatening. 

Inn Towne Suites is located at 109 S Gallaher View Rd.  The victim had been stabbed by an unknown suspect and was transported to UTMC.

The suspect was described as a  male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.  Further information may be released pending the investigation.

One male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt was stopped by Officers while leaving the parking lot.  It was discovered he was not the stabbing suspect.  However, during the interview Officers realized he was transporting marijuana for resale and was charged with a drug free school zone violation.  His name is Xavier Cate 20 years old of Knoxville.  The stabbing investigation is still ongoing at this time, according to Sgt Scott Noe, KPD.
