Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said the Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Little River this afternoon.

The victim, a white male in his 30’s, was found by two fishermen. The men were fishing on the Little River near Coulter’s Bridge at Tuckaleechee Pike and Old Walland Highway when they found the victim in the water.

The Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the man’s death. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
