Knoxville Police say an on-going dispute led to one man throwing a rock through a man’s car window then stabbed him Thursday night, Jan. 10.
According to KPD Sgt. John Coward, at approximately 10:34 p.m. officers were dispatched to a stabbing call in the parking lot of 4860 N. Broadway.
Officers arrived on scene and located a white male victim identified as Joshua Barnebey, 33, of Knoxville.
Barnebey reportedly told officers that he was driving through the parking lot and a white male suspect he identified threw a rock and hit his vehicle. The victim told officers that he got out of his car to confront the suspect and wound up in a fight with the suspect.
The victim received two small stab wounds on the left side of his back. The victim went to Saint Mary’s/ Physicians Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
KPD Public Information Officer Darrell DeBusk said, Friday, “The victim and the suspect are acquaintances and have apparently been involved in an on-going argument. The victim drove himself to a local hospital where he was released after receiving treatment for two minor cuts. The victim was less than cooperative with officers and was uncertain if he would prosecute.”
