Each day we have a choice in how we will look upon our life and the world around us. We can focus on our troubles, which inevitably lead to a negative, down-trodden mind-set, or we can focus on our good fortune, leading us to praise God and expect more from His hand. God will bless us for keeping His Word.
“Blessings on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked” (Proverbs 10:6). If our only blessings were possessions, in Heaven we would be the poorest of souls, but because God made Himself our most wonderful and best blessing, we are rich both here and for eternity.
“Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessings. You guard all that is mine” (Psalms 16:5). Jesus is everything we will ever need. We posses spirituality or materially, God will guard and use His wisdom concerning them. Our Lord is faithful, praise His Holy name!
“From His abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:16-17). God loves and enjoys giving to His children. The commandments (or law as they are referred to) was written by God on a stone tablet by God and given to Moses for God’s children to live by-but the greatest blessing ever given to us by God was when He sent His son, Christ Jesus, to the cross for our sins in order that we might have eternal life. Bless His Holy name!
“God’s blessings are dispersed according to the riches of His grace not according to the depth of our faith”- Max Lucado.
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth; my soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear it and rejoice” (Psalms 34:1-3). Such as the Israelites who entered the promise land, we should be thankful we may choose to receive God’s blessings, no matter how many troubles may come into our lives. Jesus is the problem solver and has all the answers will ever need.
“Lord, you are mine! I promise to obey your words! With all my heart I want your blessings, be merciful as you have promised. I pondered the directions of my life and I turn to follow your laws” (Psalms 119:57-59 NLT). To love God is the greatest of virtues; to be loved by God is the greatest of blessings.
“Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult; on the contrary, repay with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech” (1 Peter 3:9-10).The Bible tells us the mouth can speak blessings or curses. It pays us to go after God’s blessings and watch our tongue that it speak blessings.
“Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day” (Psalm 96:2). “We should reflect upon our blessings of which every man has many, not our paths of misfortunes of which everyone has some”-Charles Dickens. Until next time, may we desire more of God’s blessings and do what He requires to receive them.
